JCA is back at Data Centre World 2019!

We had some fantastic successes in 2018 within the data centre sector that we would like to celebrate with you!

In April JCA was shortlisted for the 2018 DCS Awards in the category ‘New Design/Build Data Centre Project of the Year’ for the design and build of Kao Data London One, the first of four data centres on the Kao Data Centre Campus.

Later in the year, together with Kao Data, we were shortlisted for the prestigious global DCD Awards 2018 in the category ‘Design Team of the Year’ which recognises the achievements of the architects, engineers and contractors that design and build data centres.

This year we are already busy working on new exciting projects for existing and new clients in the data centre sector.

JCA is enhancing its focus on innovation and continuous improvement by taking on a mentoring role in Goldacre’s new accelerator programme, RElab.

Launched by Goldacre, a leading real estate tech investment house, RElab is a 12-week mentor and pilot-led accelerator programme offering start-ups the opportunity to validate their products with industry leaders.

The six start-ups chosen from over 150 applications from around the world will spend the next few weeks being mentored by Goldacre’s experts, benefit from free workspace, industry-led events and workshops. Each firm will also gain access to other industry partners, such as JCA, and will be able to test and refine their innovations.

ShapeDo, mentored by JCA, is an Israeli-based company that provides design change management software for construction projects. ShapeDo allows teams to review changes in real-time and leverages controls and communications to eliminate unmanaged change and avoid disputes.

We are focused on supporting progress, being open minded and receptive to new ideas – all these are essential elements of JCA’s approach to continuous improvement. The category recognises the achievements of the architects, engineers and contractors that design and build data centres. Kao Data and JCA undertook a truly collaborative, open approach to enable the free-flowing of ideas, high levels of project dynamism and problem solving to achieve Kao Data’s objectives of delivering on time and on budget.

For Kao Data, the driving force for the project was to create a product that was market leading in terms of quality, efficiency and innovation and to be able to offer state-of-the-art carrier neutral data centre space at a strategic location just outside London and in doing so form one of the largest data centre campuses in the UK.

All entries have been reviewed by an independent panel of industry experts and the awards will be presented at a gala dinner on Thursday 6th December in London.
