This project consisted of the refurbishment of the existing ground floor area within the Btech laboratory facility building. The existing ground floor area was previously used as a fully functional petro-chemical laboratory which was no longer required for this purpose. The area was re-commissioned into usable open plan office space with meeting facilities for data conferencing.

JCA engaged as design, build and fit out contractor and compiled detailed design drawings and specification documentation. The project area required complete de-commissioning of the redundant laboratory fume cupboard, extract system and associated laboratory process system to facilitate office fit out installation works.

The existing ventilation and electrical infrastructure was to be retained and modified to suit floor layout. Existing high level busbar and tap off units were reconfigured to suit office arrangement. The heating and cooling requirements were serviced via a complete VRV air conditioning configuration comprising of ducted fan coil units within the ceiling void and integrated into the central BMS system.

JCA installed a complete inivaita AV and conferencing system within meeting and conference areas. Also installed was complete glazed partitioning and drywall acoustically lined partitioning system and reconfiguration of existing perforated ceiling grid.
This project was completed to a high standard, on time and budget, and the area utilised by BP’s on site projects teams and training facility due to BP’s departmental expansion.
